Founded in 2008 and growing bigger and stronger every year!

Our Story

We started this program in 2008 after I found that many of my clients that I visited at Senior Centers don’t get to celebrate the holidays like they used to. Many times they are left in a home without anyone to visit them or to bring them any holiday spirit. Our family decided to focus specifically on non-profit locations as they are purely run on the love and donations of others to provide the needed care to their residents. Many do not have the lavish amenities that you will find in some facilities where families are able to pay thousands of dollars monthly to care for their loved ones. So non-profits became our focus and our very first year in 2008 we adopted all 13 residents at our very first location – The Victorian House in Parker, CO. Today, 15 years later, we have received donations to adopt 346 residents across 7 non-profit locations.

Gift Bag Contents

Every $15 donation provides a Gift Bag to one of our Senior Residents. Each gift bag contains:

*A handmade holiday card

*Handmade children's art

*3 York Peppermint Patties

*Pair of warm socks

*Pair of warm gloves

*Pack of Tissues

*Hair Comb

*Pack of Antibacterial Wipes

*Large unscented lotion

*Nail File

Local students help us every year to build each and every one of our gift bags. Each bag has a name tag so that each resident knows that their bag was made just for them!

Volunteer

The biggest part of what we do is spend quality one-on-one time with our adopted residents. We are always in need of caring individuals who are great at striking up conversation and being great listeners. If you are interested in joining us and helping us spend time with our adopted residents during one of our visits, please reach out to us!

One of the best gifts that we can give our residents is the gift of time spent with them talking, listening, learning and truly showing how much we care.

How to Donate

Our list of residents in need of adoption grows larger and larger every year. In 2022 we filled 276 bags for distribution and in 2023 we filled 346. We expect each year to grow exponentially and as long as we can help out, we will do the best we can to provide as many gift bags as we can!

The Locations We Currently Adopt:

As our project grows larger and larger every year, we naturally add more non-profit assisted living and non-profit memory care locations to our list of where we deliver our gift bags to. Currently only 3 locations are able to allow us to spend time and visit with their residents during our deliver. We hope that as time passes and COVID slowly goes away that we will have the opportunity to spend time with residents at more of our locations.
